Stratford Swans Touch Take Flight with Stratford RFC!
Stratford RFC is thrilled to welcome the Stratford Swans Mixed Touch Rugby team into the club family, expanding the non-contact offering alongside our existing Women’s touch team.
Touch rugby is a fast-paced, low-contact spin on Rugby League: six-a-side, mixed gender, played on half a pitch, with quick touches instead of tackles, and just six phases to break the line. It’s nonstop movement, sharp skills, and smart tactics, making it perfect for current players looking for a midweek run-around, returning players easing back into the game, or complete newcomers wanting a friendly introduction to rugby. Whether you want to sharpen your handling, boost your fitness, or enjoy rugby in a relaxed, social environment, mixed touch sessions are the perfect place to start.
The Swans have already made a splash this season, kicking off the West Midlands Winter Development Series in style by winning the first round! The team claimed impressive victories over Thames Valley, Oxford Uni, and Maidenhead, with Vice Captain and England U15 star Bea Lloyd taking home Player of the Tournament.
Mixed team training takes place on Monday nights at Stratford Town FC’s all-weather pitch, 8.15–9.15pm. All genders and experience levels are welcome, from age 13+. Contact Nye Davis at nyedavis@hotmail.co.uk or 07974 730300 to find out more.
The team are sponsored by local business Fighting Fish Ltd, and 2B2.
